TitlePhotograph of Dunfermline store
DescriptionBlack and white photograph of 63/65 High Street, Dunfermline store exterior. The entrance is in the centre of the store and the Boots logo has been inlaid into the floor. The numbers 63-65 have been painted above the doorway. Above this signage reads 'Boots', 'Dispensing Chemists' and 'Toilet Specialists'. There are four display windows, each with a different description. The first reads 'Prescriptions Dispensed', and contains a variety of products including a large number of vacuum flasks. There is also a poster in the window which reads 'National Health Service Prescriptions Dispensed'. The second window has signage which reads 'Photographic Supplies', and contains products including cameras and tripods. The third sign reads 'Toilet Requisites' and contains products related to the Queen's Coronation, including a small bust of the King and Queen. The final window has signage which reads 'Fancy and Silver Goods', and again contains a variety of products including a range of purses. In the right hand window on the first floor the silhouette of the Boots Booklovers Library shield is visible. There is also a hanging sign in the shape of the shield at the edge of the store front. The photograph has been taken shortly before the Queen's Coronation on 2nd June 1953. The neighbouring store has a number of small Union Flags in their display window, and the reflection in the Boots sign again shows Union Flags hanging from the opposite building. (2 Copies)
