Activity | Jenny Boot was born on the 15th December 1858, she was the daughter of John and Mary Boot and sister to Jesse. She was a devout Methodist. Mary worked in the family buisness, cleaning the shop in Goosegate at the end of each working day. Jenny took a keen interest in a home for "single mothers with babies", called Dedishaw in Buckinghamshire. She also financed a foster child in New Zealand, after visiting New Zealand between 1915-1925 when she held the position of Deaconess of Dunedin, Central Mission. Jenny died on the 25th September 1944. |
