| Activity | Dorothy Boot was born on 27th March 1891, the first daughter of Jesse and Florence Boot. She attended the Western House School in Nottingham until 1903, she then went to the Roedean School between 1903 and 1905. Dorothy married Captain Wilfred Montague Bruce on the 25th November 1913, St Ann's Church, Soho. They had three daughters named Nancy, Charity and Rosemary. Dorothy gave her name to the Dorothy Boot Homes in Wilford, Nottingham, which her father opened in 1909, for veterans of the Crimean War and the Indian Mutiny. Dorothy died in 1980. |
