| Description | Statistical records were produced on an annual basis in conjunction with the annual financial reports, and collated sales and expenditure figures as well as information relating to employees. The figures produced were often presented in comparison with previous years'. Information included: Store sales by department, number of employees (by department) and customers, average value of sales, number of stores (including the number which opened and closed within the year), comparative sales by region and by the 20 largest and smallest stores, number of prescriptions dispensed, volume of supplies by department, manufacturing output, details of the spend on managers' bonus, stock comparison, summary of advertising including publications and exhibitions, pharmaceutical research and welfare costs, including those relating to war (compensation for loss of office and OHMS wages payments) |
