| Administrative History | Company incorporated on 23 October 1979 to hold and manage investments in Canada. The new company centralised the merchandise, marketing, finance and personnel functions in order to harmonise the service provided to the two operating companies (Boots Drug Stores (Canada) Ltd, and Boots Drug Stores (Western) Ltd). Stores now traded at Boots Drug Stores with principal activities continuing to focus on the business of wholesale and retail chemists.
In the first year, stores were branded with the Boots logo, and a scheme of store improvement works was undertaken. Five shops were also acquired in British Columbia, creating 164 stores in 1979, with plans for a further 4 stores in Ontario, and 4 in the Western Provinces.
The company was dissolved on 1 April 1996. |
